Undergraduate Programs

Online Programs

Our teacher preparation programs produce well-qualified early childhood, elementary, secondary and special education teachers. Non-certification programs include a specialization in Children and Families for Head Start Teachers and a Substitute Teacher Program.

A growing number of courses in several programs are available partly or fully online, with two of the School of Education's master’s degree programs, one of its teacher endorsemenst, and post-degree non-certification programs available completely online.

Master's Degree Programs

Endorsement Programs

Our seven master’s degree programs are suited in particular to educators seeking advancing levels of specialization in their teaching. For those holding bachelor's degrees but seeking initial secondary level certification, our MAT program offers one option.

For prospective students seeking to add areas of teaching emphasis, our endorsement programs lead to state-recognized and approved areas of specialty. In addition, a range of teaching area major and minor endorsements is available.

Post-Degree Certification Programs

Our 30-credit Education Specialist program is designed for educators pursuing enhanced knowledge of theory and best practice, seeking to acquire skills in interpreting and employing education research, and increasing understanding of educational change and leadership.

Post-Degree Certification Programs at the School of Education offer opportunities for initial certification, renewal of certification, or adding endorsements to a current certification.

Doctoral Program (Ed.D.)

Post-Degree Non-Certification Programs

The Doctorate in Education program, a 60-credit program, is designed for those seeking to generate and apply research in the solution of complex real-world challenges facing our communities.

For students holding bachelor’s degrees in areas other than education but wishing to pursue study in the field of Early Childhood Education, we recommend our post-degree non-certification programs.
