Before earning my doctorate degree in Learning Technologies at the University of Michigan I was an elementary school teacher. I taught third grade for three years in the Marshall Islands at George Seitz Elementary school and I taught fifth grade for three years here in Michigan at Greyhound Intermediate in a town called Eaton Rapids. When I'm not teaching or conducting research I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters.

I'm very interested in the enhancement of learning environments through the integration of technology and enjoy working with preservice and practicing teachers to learn about how this can be done more effectively. In my dissertation I looked at how scaffolds impact what preservice teachers learn and notice from videos of classroom practice. I would like to continue this work and investigate how videos can be used to help preservice teachers learn more about the integration of technology in the classroom. To learn more about the many tools that are available to teachers please check out my Wiki (www.umdedtech.wikispaces.com) or Blog (www.umdedtech.blogspot.com).
