The School of Education Field Placement Office handles all assignments for pre-student and student teaching experiences. Please direct any questions regarding student teaching or practicum placement policies to the Field Placement Office (261 FSC) Carolyn Williams 313-593-5094.
Failure to meet the following clearances could delay your placement.
- Bloodborne Pathogens and Infectious Diseases Training
-View video and take test in Curriculum Laboratory, Room 267 FCS or
-Education Psychology classes (EDC 300-301) and Child Development (EDC 340-341) classes
- Criminal Background Check (CBC)
-Must have both State and FBI clearances
-Forms are available in 262 FCS
-CBC are offered by Integrated Biometric Technology at a variety of locations by appointment only 1-866-226-2952 or www.iisfingerprint.com
-Must be valid throughout practicum and/or student teaching term
-TB test may be obtained from private physician, local health clinic, County Health Dept or current employer
-TB testing is available at Dearborn Public Health Department. An official form with dates/times of verification of payment by UM-D can be obtained from the Field Placement Office, 261 FCS
-Required for placement at the Child Development Center (CDC) or any pre-school placement
-Required for pre-school or kindergarten placements
-Forms available in 262 FCS or CDC Office, 103 ASC
