For students interested in obtaining K-8 Science Certification, a minimum of 36 credit hours are required for a major in Integrated Science or 24 credit hours for a minor. A 200-level series of Inquiry-based science courses in Natural Science emphasize pedagogy and the Michigan Curriculum Framework Grade Level Content Expectations for K-7. A 300-level series of advanced Inquiry-based courses are also required. Integrated Science majors take additional coursework in each of the three areas of physical science, earth/planetary science and life science. See the Elementary Education Worksheet for the specific requirements. Upon completion of the coursework, students must successfully pass the Integrated Science-Elementary (093) MTTC.
