Community Relations Leadership (CBA 106)                       (7/31/08)

This class teaches the basics of building strong community support for schools and education. Assess the image of your district, explore techniques for overcoming challenges, identify internal and external publics, and develop communication strategies for targeted groups.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this class, you will be able to:

  • explain the role that community support plays in effective school operations
  • assess the public image of your school district
  • discuss techniques for addressing challenges that your district faces related to community relations
  • identify internal and external publics that are important to your district's community relations
  • explain the importance of developing an effective communication strategy for your district
  • develop communication strategies to help create community support for your district
