School Technology (CBA 109)                     July 10th ($80)

6:00 - 9:00 pm. (Light Dinner @ 5:30 p.m.)

This class covers the prevailing issues school districts face as technology infuses the curriculum.  Topics include:  Code of Conduct for internet use, board policies, staff development, distance learning, and the maintenance and replacement of hardware.  Bring your district technology plan to see how it compares to a model plan.

Course Objectives:

When you complete this course, you will be able to:

  • explain why your district's schools need technology
  • discuss the process and importance of establishing a vision for technology in your district
  • identify steps in the technology planning process
  • explain the role of school boards in school district technology planning
  • discuss steps for ensuring effective implementation of a technology plan
  • identify the state's requirements for school district technology
