For the past several years, in addition to its mission of friend-raising, the University of Michigan-Dearborn Alumni Society has identified a need for a scholarship it could rally around.
The Alumni Society Board sought a means to both honor the legacy of our alumni and continue to support the exceptional programs and environment afforded by our campus. What better way to both criteria than by financially assisting undergraduate students.
In 1997, the University of Michigan-Dearborn Alumni Society established the Alumni Legacy Scholarship. The scholarship is appropriately named, as it will perpetuate the legacy of the University of Michigan-Dearborn tradition by providing scholarships to academically talented students with close familial or other significant relationships to UM-Dearborn graduates.
Since the 1998/99 academic year, the Alumni Legacy Scholarship has been able to assist in the funding of 75 UM-Dearborn undergraduate student educations.
2008/09 Alumni Legacy Scholarship applications were due on February 1, 2008. Contact the Office of Alumni Relations at 313.593.5131 or e-mail with any questions or for more information. - Find out more information on how you can become a member of the Legacy 500
