The Educational Technology Endorsement program is designed to create a growing cadre of highly skilled professionals with improved knowledge, skills, and confidence in order to effectively utilize Information Age practices to enhance the teaching and learning process, and to help K-12 students to meet challenging academic content and student achievement standards. The program is primarily aimed at certified K-12 teachers who desire to provide leadership and expertise in the effective use of various forms of educational technology. The program will provide these professionals advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of computers, networking, and telecommunications as well as on the effective integration of technology into teaching and learning. Individuals with varying degrees of technology experience will find this program useful in increasing their overall effectiveness in the field of educational technology and their ability to mentor other teachers and provide leadership by example in the schools where they are employed.

This course is designed to acquaint the students with research, trends, and issues facing education in the digital era. The course will look at the wide range of developments in technology and investigate the trends that are currently impacting the field of educational technology. Students explore and analyze key issues related to technology in the classroom of the twenty-first century.
This course provides students with a general overview of computer systems and various software packages that can be used in educational settings. The students will demonstrate knowledge of selection and management of different computer systems and create several projects using various basic tools, programming and authoring environments to develop interactive multimedia and computer-based instructional products.
This field-based course provides students opportunities to design, practice and evaluate the integration of technology into the teaching and learning process. In alignment with the Michigan Curriculum Framework, the students will implement curriculum plans that include teaching a series of lessons that apply educational technology resources to maximize student learning in a specific content area.
In this course, students will acquire competence in the ability to apply the instructional design process (ADDIE: analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation) in the solution of unique learning problems in educational settings. Students will design instructional pages to address learning requirements, such as memory overload, and create a portfolio demonstrating mastery of instructional design related software and concepts.
This course is designed to present the student with the basics in the design of instructional materials to be delivered in a technology delivery environment. In this course, students will plan for each stage of the design process up to the actual development of course programming (that is another course all in itself, EDT522). Students will select several performance problems that require a training intervention and design appropriate technology-based solutions for web-based training delivery.
This course is designed to present students with the basics in the development of instructional materials to be delivered in a technology delivery environment. Using projects deliverables designed in EDT520, students will develop technology-based solutions for intra/internet delivery.
This field-based course provides students with necessary skills to design and practice methods and strategies for providing effective professional development for teachers and to demonstrate leadership in technology learning practices and techniques in the K-12 environment. The course focuses on the design, delivery and evaluation of well-planned, ongoing professional development activities that are tied to the school's curriculum goals, designed with built-in evaluation and sustained by adequate financial and staff support to use technology appropriately to promote learning for all students in the classroom.
