For entry into the pre-MAT phase: - A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on the bachelor's or a graduate degree
- An intake interview with the program coordinator or an authorized advisor
- Submission of a completed application form
- Payment of the application fee of $30.00 (check or money order) payable to the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
For full admission into the MAT program (i.e., submission during the pre-MAT phase) - A one-page Statement of Purpose describing your academic and career goals.
- Three recommendations (see the School's Recommendation for Admission form)
- Official transcripts from each college or university attended
- Passing scores on the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) Basic Skills Test
- Passing scores on the MTTC Subject Area Tests in the teaching major(s) and minor(s)
